PSYCHICSTOPSYCHICS WINTER BLUES

I have many thoughts about the winter season, it does herald crisp frosty mornings, white dusted trees and fields, and the feeling of snugly sitting in front of the fire watching the dancing flames – all of these things are the picturesque images of the season which really begins for me in November. But it has with it a dark side which comes with much earlier drawing in of evenings, less chance of dancing in the rain, more like rushing to avoid the gales and torrents, It is a time when the increase in my work is significant too, as it does mark a time when hopes and dreams and all future inspirations become much harder to imagine. For some reason I believe we all suffer slightly in some degree with the illness named SAD – which is basically sun deprivation and along with it comes the increased need for bursts of positivity and perhaps that surge of looking forward. The whole relationship issue also comes in for a battering, not only is their an increased need for company, not so easily obtained even by a walk with the dog, or the fateful meeting of the “one” when social calendars drop slightly before the festive season ones begin, but also for those in partnerships where there is a forced need to stay in a bit more and thereby little escape is offered – Certain elements of this time must be faced, it is inevitable every year that winter will come and animals and insects all accept this and plan ahead, the bees certainly and those who know me will also know are my great friends and keeping them brings me my own rewards, store and save the supplies for the winter knowing that pollen will be less available. They work together in a great effort to support each other and give that unification so evident inside the hive at this time.

People argue more as bills rise, or struggle more when they have to make more of an effort to get ready to go out for the evening, where an unexpected invitation to a barbecue seems to spur on an immediate excitement and vision of basking outside with good food, drink and company, the thought of going out to dinner and having to prepare and wrap up warmly before venturing out in the first place remains a little less inviting. I can only in my work give out the energy of acceptance where we have no choice in the seasons coming in and we have to “ride it out” but we know there is the promise of the oncoming spring, we also have many indoor activities which can enlighten the time in between and we must try to work together more during the winter spell to give each other support rather than stand lonely and as individuals, not only does this promote warming thoughts, but gives us the feeling of unity, which is always heartwarming and uplifting. So for all it is time to pull on the hats and gloves and be positive towards others as this extension of love and caring will bring out the best in all we are all in it together after all. If we are going to hibernate, lets do it together!
